So often we look at celebrities like they have it all together, or at least like they should. But they’re as human as we are, and often struggle with body image issues. The latest example of this comes from Cardi B, who posted a video to her Instagram showing off her postpartum body while discussing her insecurities.

“Sometimes I like my postpartum baby body and sometimes I don’t like it because I feel like my thighs are a little bit saggy and my stomach,” she explained in the video, where, in our estimation, she looks fantastic. But insecurities don’t always listen to common sense, or other people, that’s why they’re insecurities.

“I think I need a tummy tuck, but I don’t want to cut myself from here to here,” the singer also says in the video, while pointing to her midsection. It comes six months after Cardi gave birth to her son with husband Offset. The two also share a 3-year-old daughter.

The internet, of course, doesn’t help, because the expectations placed on women who are in the public eye are often unfair. Can we blame Cardi B for feeling this way if the entire industry keeps pushing women to adhere to impossible standards?

But fans are on Cardi B’s side, defending her against those that have been mean spirited and cruel after she expressed how she feels about her postpartum body. Not only that, they have been praising her not just for her body, but for her honesty in sharing her feelings, just as they call out the culture that has led to her insecurities.

To us, and to a lot of her fans, Cardi B looks amazing. We’ll say it out loud as many times as it’s necessary, while also recognizing it’s her body, and she has a right to make whatever decisions she wants about it. We don’t get an opinion.
