Last Friday (May 12), Sasha Calle proved she was a kid at heart when she posted photos and a video of herself playing with a Barbie doll version of her character, Supergirl, from the upcoming superhero movie, The Flash.

In the post, Calle is seen in a couple of selfies with the Supergirl Barbie. In one, she even poses it on top of her head. In another photo, Calle shows off the box the toy was packaged in, which features an image of her character from the movie. She also uploaded a video where she’s pretending that the doll is flying next to a Batmobile toy. Those are some impressive sound effects, if you ask us!

“There’s a [Barbie] that looks like me,” Calle tweeted. “I don’t know how to act. I’ve been taking her everywhere … flying around and imagining laser eyes haha. Abrazos enormes!! Todavía no me la creo.”

In February 2021, Calle learned that she would be playing the iconic superhero in The Flash when director Andy Muschietti broke the news during a virtual call. Two years later, Calle reacted to the movie’s first trailer, which debuted during the Super Bowl this past February. “It’s so exciting to finally share a little bit of her with you!” she tweeted. “Getting to know her and feel her has been one of the greatest honors.”

Based on the trailers, fans seemed to be in love with Calle’s portrayal of Supergirl. Let’s hope all the love for her translates into her continuing to play the character in future movies. Earlier this year, new DC bosses, James Gunn and Peter Safran, were noncommittal about whether Calle would fit into the new chapter of the DC Universe they are currently developing. “We’re figuring it all out,” Gunn said.

The Flash will premiere at theaters nationwide June 16, 2023. Until then, pre-order your Supergirl Barbie for your toy collection.
