Chiquis is celebrating a new chapter in her life. The Mexican-American star revealed that she tied the knot with her partner Emilio Sanchez by sharing beautiful photos from their wedding.
In May 2023, Chiquis, who is the daughter of late banda icon Jenni Rivera, announced that she got engaged with Sanchez. And last month, she opened up about a traumatic experience that she shared with the celebrity photographer. While getting ready for a concert, Chiquis suffered a miscarriage and lost the baby that she was going to have Sanchez.
Over the weekend, multiple news outlets were speculating that Chiquis and Sanchez got married. Last night, Chiquis confirmed that she got married with Sanchez in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas, NV on July 5. She broke the news by sharing photos from their wedding.
The photoset on Instagram included shots of them walking down the aisle, sharing a kiss after being pronounced married, and moments of them after the major life event. With a wedding ring emoji, Chiquis wrote in the caption, “To infinity and beyond. Thank GOD.” Sanchez also shared the same photos with the caption: “Thats my WIFE.”
In the comments of their Instagram posts about the wedding, many celebrities shared their well wishes for Chiquis and Sanchez. Mexican-American pop star Becky G wrote, “Love you both so much.” Música mexicana star Gerardo Ortiz wrote, “Congratulations friend @emiliosanchez @chiquis many blessings to you both.” Singer Helen Ochoa added, “It was MAGIC. Love you both!!”
During her wedding, Chiquis also paid homage to her mother Rivera. She shared a video in her wedding dress where she sang along to Rivera’s song “Cuando Muere Una Dama.”
Last month, Chiquis joined her siblings in celebrating Rivera’s posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Mexican pop icon Gloria Trevi gave a speech about the legacy that Rivera left behind.
