Pitbull is giving us another reason to call him Mr. 305 – he’s officially getting a stadium in Miami named after him. On August 6, the Florida International University (FIU) Athletics unveiled its partnership with the global Cuban-American star, marking it the first-ever artist-branded athletic stadium. Florida International University’s FIU Stadium will now be known as the Pitbull Stadium.

“This partnership with FIU is a true honor and a testament to what we can achieve when we work hard,” Pitbull reportedly said in a press statement. “Renaming the stadium isn’t just about a name change. It’s about inspiring the community, creating opportunities and showing the world that with determination and a clear vision, anything is possible. We’re making history together, and we’re just getting started. Why dream when you can live it?”

Although the press release states that the partnership involves a 10-year agreement, ESPN reports that the FIU board of trustees approved a five-year deal as of right now. According to the aforementioned source, Pitbull will pay Florida International University $1.2 million a year for five years to make this happen. However, there’s an option for the star to renew the deal for five additional years.

“You’re going to see that every other university is going to want to do the same thing. But the difference is, we don’t do this for propaganda, we do it from the heart,” Pitbull said per ESPN. “We do it because it’s meaningful. We do it because I’m from the crib. I’m 305. I’m from the bottom. This is my backyard.”

Moreover, the agreement includes Pitbull making an anthem for the school, as well as appearing at one athletics fundraising event per year, among other details.
