Latine creatives will be celebrated at the upcoming NVISION Latino Film & Music Festival. The line-up of movies and short films was revealed along with the celebrity panelists like Leslie Grace, Anthony Ramos, and Jessy Terrero.

For the event’s 10th annual celebration, the NVISION Latino Film & Music Festival will take place on October 10-12 in Palm Springs, CA.  Movies and short films by Latine and Spanish directors will be shown at the Palm Springs Art Museum. To be inclusive to all communities, more than 59 percent of projects that will be screened were directed by women while 20 percent of the filmmakers identify as LGBTQ+. Afro-Latine, Indigenous, and directors from the disabled community will also screen their projects at the festival.

The line-up includes four feature-length films. Among those movies are the neo-noir Ponyboi about an intersex sex worker in New Jersey who is running from the mob. The movie was written by River Gallo and directed by Esteban Arango. En La Caliente: Tales of a Reggaeton Warrior by director Fabien Pisani highlights the story of Cuban artist Kandyman, who helped shape the sound of the genre. The documentary Esta Ambición Desmedida will make its U.S. premiere there. Directors Santos Bacana, Cristina Trenas, and Rogelio Gonzalez captured Spanish singer C. Tangana at a creative crossroads in his career.

Among the 35 short films that will be screened are Hive, which stars Xochitl Gomez, Shut up and Fish by Mexican-American music video directors Pasqual Gutiérrez and Raúl “RJ” Sanchez, and the Indigenous story of Tuhaymani’chi Pal Waniqa (The Water Flows Always) by Gina Milanovich Nils Cowan.

There will also be a series of panels that will be hosted by Grace, Ramos, Terrero, Areli Quirarte, and other Latine creatives. These panels include: Art and Innovation in Music Videos, Leaders Building Timeless Brands, Soundtracks: The Power of Music in Film, Becoming a Multi-Hyphenate, and more.
