A reggaeton icon is making a return to the music scene. Last night (Sept. 26), Tony Dize dropped the romantic music video for his single “Quisiera,” which marks his first taste of new music in nearly a decade.

Dize first made a splash in 2003 after appearing on the compilation album Blin Blin, Vol. 1. Following his breakthrough hit “No Pierdas Tiempo” with Wisin y Yandel, the Puerto Rican star continued to make waves with songs like “Sensación” and “Quizás.” After years of generating buzz, Dize dropped his debut album La Melodía De La Calle in 2008. His last LP La Melodía De La Calle, 3rd Season was released in 2015. Dize soon re-emerged on Bad Bunny’s song “La Corriente” from 2022’s Un Verano Sin Ti. Now, he has signed with Rimas Entertainment, Bad Bunny’s record label, to mount his comeback.

“This is a very significant moment for Rimas and for Tony Dize,” Junior Carabaño, co-founder of Rimas, shared in a statement. “Tony’s signing is a testament to our ongoing mission to work with artists who have not only influenced culture but continue to advance and transform it. Over the past year, we have been committed to making this partnership a reality, and it is an honor that Tony has trusted us for this new chapter in his career. Together, we aim to take his timeless sound to new heights and reach even wider audiences around the world.”

Dize is reclaiming his space as a romántico of reggaeton with his single “Quisiera.” In the alluring song, he aims to win over a woman who has caught his eye with sweet and sensual lyrics. The music video, directed by Nuno Gomes, takes the song’s love story in a cinematic direction. A suited-up Dize helps take down a scheming mob boss. The lavish video also hints at more coming soon from Dize’s La Melodía De La Calle album series.
