Is Christina Vidal Returning for ‘Freakier Friday’?

Freaky Friday

Many of the stars of Freaky Friday have joined Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis for the upcoming sequel. And Pink Slip bandmate Christina Vidal is returning for Freakier Friday according to IMDb and outlets like The Hollywood Reporter.

The actress of Puerto Rican descent first made her mark in the industry on the hit Nickelodeon show Taina in 2001. In that series, she was able to marry her love of acting and music at the fictitious Manhattan High School of the Performing Arts. Vidal continued to meld those two worlds together as Maddie in Freaky Friday in 2003. She was a part of the garage rock group Pink Slip with Lohan’s Anna Coleman and Haley Hudson’s Peg.

Though Pink Slip was a fictitious band, Vidal actually sang lead vocals in the song “Take Me Away.” In the original movie, the trio perform the Lash classic at the House of Blues. After Lohan and Curtis’ characters have switched bodies, Curtis has to perform Lohan’s killer guitar solo behind a curtain on her behalf.

Today (March 14), the trailer was unveiled for Freakier Friday. Though Vidal doesn’t appear in it, there’s hints to Pink Slip’s return with Lohan once again playing the guitar alongside her bandmates. Other past characters who do appear in the trailer include Rosalind Chao as Peipei, Lucille Soong as Peipei’s mom, and Chad Michael Murray as Jake. New additions in the cast are Manny Jacinto as Eric Davies, the boyfriend of Anna, and Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons as their children.

The premise of Freakier Friday sees Lohan and Curtis switching bodies with Butters and Hammons’ characters. The movie will open in theaters on August 8, 2025. Vidal’s sister is another famous Latina actress, Lisa Vidal, who had a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy
