Juan Gabriel’s estate is still releasing new, never-before-heard recordings of the late Mexican icon. On June 6, his estate released the first-ever studio recording of “Me Nace del Corazón,” just in time for Pride Month.

“Me Nace del Corazón” is one of Juanga’s staples in his fruitful musical and television career. Penned by the hitmaker himself in the 1970s, the tune was first released by Rocío Dúrcal in 1978. Though it wasn’t immediately recorded in the studio by the Mexican pioneer, Juanga would sing his song during live shows, television performances, and even in his own biographical films, making it one of his most popular songs. Later, “Me Nace del Corazón” would be covered numerous times by other artists like Aida Cuevas, Pandora, and Natalia Jiménez, transcending generations. Now, fans have a studio version of the classic to be part of the song’s legacy.

The new studio version was produced by Guillermo “Memo” Hernández Galicia, who worked with El Divo de Juárez as his musical director and mariachi conductor for over 20 years. It highlights Juanga’s signature and empowering raw vocal cadence accompanied by a mariachi. Per the press release, the song features contributions by El Divo’s former mariachi called El Mariachi del Divo Alma de Juárez. It also notes that the vocals were recorded “shortly before” the artist died in August 2016.

“Thank you, Alberto Aguilera Valadez, our beloved Juan Gabriel, for 23 years of music, stages, and trust. Walking alongside you was a privilege and a valuable life lesson,” Hernández Galicia said about the new track in a press statement. “Producing and creating this musical arrangement for this single, ‘Me Nace del Corazón,’ is my way of paying sincere tribute to the eternal legacy you planted in your audience’s hearts.”

Juan Gabriel’s memory is still being honored by the Latine community. Recently, his iconic Mis 40 en Bellas Artes performance was shown in Cinemex theaters. TikTok users shared their experience online, bringing his concert’s energy to their seats.
