Bad Bunny is celebrating the Fourth of July with a political statement. This morning (July 4), the Puerto Rican superstar released the music video for “NUEVAYol,” where he criticizes President Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policy.

“NUEVAYol” is one of the songs from Bad Bunny’s blockbuster album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. Back in February, he was spotted filming the music video for the song at Bronx Community College in New York. Directed by Renell Medrano, Bad Bunny celebrates the life and culture of all Latines living in New York City in the vibrant music video.

Bad Bunny also uses the “NUEVAYol” video to make a statement about the anti-immigrant stance taken by President Trump’s administration this past year. In a scene when people are listening to the radio, a voice that’s very similar to Trump’s can be heard walking back his inhumane rhetoric against Latine communities that has been used to amp up the ICE raids.

“I made a mistake,” the Trump wannabe says. “I want to apologize to the immigrants in America. I’m in the United States. I know America is the whole continent. I want to say that this country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans…”

Bad Bunny also celebrates his Puerto Rican heritage in a big way. In a powerful scene in the “NUEVAYol” music video, the forehead of the Statue of Liberty is covered with a giant Puerto Rican flag. He ends the video with the message: “Juntos Somos Más Fuerte.” In English, the message can be translated to “Together We Are Stronger.”

The “NUEVAYol” video is coming on the heels of Bad Bunny’s upcoming concert residency in Puerto Rico. On July 11, he will kick off his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency at the El Coliseo in San Juan.
