This Latina Winner on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10’ Just Made History

Drag Race All Stars Season 10

World of Wonder

The first ever Latina drag queen has just won RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. The lip sync smackdown in the season 10 finale came down to the all-Latina top two of Ginger Minj and Jorgeous.

In the past nine seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, no Latina queen had ever won and entered the Drag Race Hall of Fame. That changed this morning with Ginger Minj and Jorgeous taking down their competition in a series of lip sync battles for the crown. The top eight queens (including wildcard pick Kerri Colby) soon dwindled down to the last two Latinas standing in the final lip sync.

Ginger Minj is of Puerto Rican descent (as Aja also confirmed to us in a previous interview). This was her fourth time competing on the franchise following her stints on RuPaul’s Drag Race season seven and All Stars seasons two and six. Ginger went into the lip sync smackdown with four maxi challenge wins under belt. In the Rate-A-Queen twist, her fellow queens rated her as the No. 1 most fierce lip-syncer in the finale. She defeated Kerri Colby to Lady Gaga’s “Disease” and Bosco to Pink’s “Raise Your Glass.”

Mexican-American drag queen Jorgeous returned to the franchise for a third time. She previously competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 and last year’s season of All Stars. Jorgeous went into the finale with two maxi challenge wins. The lip sync assassin took down fellow Latina Aja to “Party Lights” by Natalie Cole and Lydia B Kollins to Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever.”

The final lip sync for the crown came down to Ginger Minj and Jorgeous. The two Latinas battled it out to “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls. RuPaul then declared that Ginger had won the lip sync and the entire competition. She is making history as the first Latina winner of All Stars and the first queen of Puerto Rican descent to win in the U.S. franchise. Ginger is also taking home a cash prize of $200,000.

“It’s been 10 years of coming to the competition and I’m f**king ready to reign,” she exclaimed with the scepter in her hands. “I won! Finally! I worked so hard for this and to have it finally happen, it just exceeds every expectation. I feel like a winner. I’m living proof that even if the whole world tells you you’re not a winner, you can make it happen for yourself.”
