Selena Gomez is bringing the heat to her brand Rare Beauty in a hot, new collaboration with a Tajín. The two brands have teamed up for an exclusive, limited-edition makeup kit inspired by the fiery red hues of Tajín’s lime, chili, and sea salt seasoning.
In a nod to some of Mexico’s most popular condiments, the set includes Rare Beauty’s award-winning Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in a deep brown shade called “Chamoy” and its newest lip line Positive Light Luminizing Lip Gloss in a rich terracotta with copper and gold shimmer named “Clásico.”
“This collab is a celebration of what makes us unique — our culture, our energy, and the moments that bring us together,” Selena Gomez said in a press statement. “Just like Tajín, these shades bring boldness, warmth, and a spark of joy to every occasion.”
On the heels of Rare Beauty’s fifth year in business, the new collaboration marks a major first for the company: Tajín marks the first time Rare Beauty has launched a product collaboration with another brand. Another first for the Mexican-American singer’s brand this year includes the launch of their first fine fragrance, Rare Eau de Parfum,

As part of the new collaboration with Tajín, Rare Beauty stated it’s also making a donation to the Escuela Nacional de Cerámica (ENC), Mexico’s first formal ceramics school. Tajín is a founding member of the National School of Ceramics, which supports Mexican ceramic artists who are preserving the rich tradition of this artistry through an educational curriculum that encompasses the artistic, scientific, and technological aspects of the arts.
In what could be considered a couple of Easter eggs dropped last year, this isn’t the first time Gomez’s beauty business features the Mexican seasoning brand. In one video posted on social media last year, Gomez unpacks the items she has stored in her mini Rare Beauty puffy tote bag. One of those items included a miniature Tajín bottle alongside other minis of Rare Beauty products.
Rare Beauty also gave us a peek at what one of their powder blushes would look like if it were perfectly shade matched to Tajín’s peppery reds in another video posted to social media later last summer.

Gomez has leaned into her Mexican heritage through food-inspired collaborations this year. In May, she teamed up with Oreo to create limited-edition cookies inspired by her love of horchata.
Rare Beauty’s collaboration with Tajín continues the ongoing trend of food crossovers in the beauty and fashion space. Plastic-free Mexican beauty brand AORA recently went viral for its chile-shaped lipstick carrier bag charm. Mexican soda brand Jarritos released a personal care collab with the body care brand Native.
The limited-edition Rare Beauty x Tajín Cheek & Lip Set will include full-sized products and will be available for $30 at RareBeauty.com and Sephora.com starting on August 21.
