All episodes of Wednesday Season 2 are now available on Netflix after the release of Part 2. And three Latina writers helped bring the character to life in this sophomore season. Who are they, and what episodes were they involved in? We’ve got all the information right here for you!
The Addams Family and our favorite deadpan member of the family, played by Jenna Ortega, are back, and the writers behind some of the most iconic moments are from our communities. Three of the eight episodes of Season 2 were written by Latinas. And they’re very well-known names in the industry, too.
Cuban-American Valentina Garza wrote the third episode of Season 2, titled “Call of the Woe.” If the name sounds familiar, it’s because she was one of the lead writers and co-executive producers on another Latina-centric show, Jane the Virgin, which starred Gina Rodriguez. She also wrote four episodes of Netflix’s XO, Kitty.
Meanwhile, Mexican-Jewish Lauren Otero wrote the fourth episode of the season, titled “If These Woes Could Talk.” A NHMC Television Writing Program graduate, she also served as a writer and co-producer on another Netflix hit, The Umbrella Academy.

The third Latina writer on Wednesday is Erika Vázquez, whose previous credits include CSI: Vegas and the upcoming erotic thriller Fixation, which is now in pre-production. She wrote the fifth episode of the second season, titled “Hyde and Woe Seek.”
So, what are you waiting for? Wednesday as a show features a lot of talent from our communities, and now you know that also extends behind the scenes. That makes it the perfect thing to binge-watch this weekend, if you ask us.
