Rosalía appears to be gearing up for the 2026 Winter Olympics. This morning (Dec. 15), the Spanish popstar released the music video for “La Perla,” where she plays hockey, tries her hand at fencing, and enjoys a cigarette. Notably, featured act Yahritza y Su Esencia did not appear in the video.

“La Perla” is one of the songs from Rosalía’s recent album LUX. With the feature from Yahritza y Su Esencia, this marks the first time that she has collaborated with a Mexican act. The kiss-off anthem has mostly made waves for appearing to be about her breakup with her ex-fiancé, Rauw Alejandro. Last month, Rosalía performed “La Perla” live on TV for the first time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Her fairytale-like performance was inspired by The Princess and the Pea. Now, she has finally released the music video for the song.

The music video for “La Perla” was directed by Bad Bunny’s long-time collaborator, STILLZ. He has also worked with Rosalía on her videos for “Tuya,” “Vampiros” with Rauw Alejandro, and “Candy.” In the music video, we first see her as a fencer, with her now-signature halo bleached into her hair. Rosalía later cruises around the hood while smoking a cigarette. She also takes over an ice skating rink while dressed as a hockey player. She even sings to some of Yahritza Martinez’s lines, given her absence. The song has proven to be a big comeback moment for Martinez after her band fell out of favor with Mexico, so it would’ve been cool to see her appear, too.

With the “La Perla” music video, Rosalía appears to be cashing in on the hockey craze of the moment. The sport is at the center of two of the biggest TV shows right now, Shoresy and Heated Rivalry. In June of next year, Rosalía will kick off the U.S leg of her LUX Tour
