The Seattle Seahawks enter Super Bowl LX as favorites in their game against the AFC Champions New England Patriots. Julian Love is one of two Seattle Seahawks players to identify as Latino, and he will be playing in Santa Clara on February 8th.
Love, a safety, finished the NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams with 4 tackles and 1 assisted tackle. And though the Seahawks defense struggled at times to stop Rams QB Matthew Stafford, they came up huge when they had to, and Seattle secured the win. Now, he and his team are strong favorites to secure the championship.
“It’s surreal,” Love said in a post-game press conference about the team advancing to the Super Bowl. “I just love playing with these guys,” he added.
Right after the game he also praised QB Sam Darnold. “Listen, we love Sam, he’s special. He got a bad rap early in his career on a bad team. This is not that.”
This season, Love had 23 solo tackles, 11 assisted tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception in 8 games. The safety, drafted in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2019 draft, was the 10th safety drafted in that draft class.
Super Bowl LX will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Four other players from our communities are set to participate in the game, including Love’s teammate Elijah Arroyo. The Patriots have three Latino players, Andres Borregales, Christian Gonzalez, and Jaylinn Hawkins.
Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny will headline the Halftime Show.
