Meet the Latina Lead of Netflix’s ‘Something Very Bad is Going to Happen’

Camila Morrone is getting the spotlight she deserves. The Argentinean-American model and actress is in the headlines for her newest horror project, Netflix’s Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, streaming now.
This is Morrone’s first major role as a lead in a series. Born in Los Angeles to Argentine actors, you might recognize the emerging actress from Prime Video’s popular 1970s-inspired music drama Daisy Jones & the Six, starring Riley Keough and Sam Claflin. In Daisy Jones & the Six, Morrone played Camila Dunne, the photographer and supportive wife of Claflin’s Billy.
Morrone’s role earned her a nomination in 2023 for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Though she didn’t win, she was one of the series’ most standout roles, giving an insight into how much a loving woman can endure despite being in an emotional love triangle. Before Daisy Jones & the Six, she was also part of other projects like Bukowski (2013), Death Wish (2018), and The Night Manager (2026).
Fast forward to now, Morrine is taking on the main protagonist role as Rachel Harkin in the eight-episode miniseries Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, alongside Adam DiMarco. Created by Haley Z. Boston and directed by an all-women line-up, the series is about a bride that “has a feeling that something horrifying will happen at her wedding — and the closer to the altar she gets, the worse it becomes.” And it is already getting praise for the skyrocketing Latina actress, who is known to be proud of her roots.
In a recent post, she wrote: “Ser latina es un orgullo todos los días y especialmente hoy [Being Latina is a source of pride every day, and especially today].”
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is streaming now via Netflix.
