The 2027 class of the Hollywood Walk of Fame includes an elite group of Latino entertainers. Next year, Karol G, Pedro Pascal, and Cheech Marin will each be honored with stars on the Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame honors people that have made an influential impact in several fields of the entertainment industry. In the field of motion pictures, Marin is the sole Latino honoree. Next year, he will receive a star as part of the iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong, which pioneered the stoner movies genre in the seventies and eighties. As a Mexican-American actor, Marin was also one of the few Latino faces that was breaking through the mainstream at that time.

The sole Latino honoree in the field of television is Pedro Pascal. The Chilean-American actor has brought much needed Latino representation to both film and TV in the past few years. On the small screen, Pascal is known for starring in Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian. He received two Emmy Awards nominations for perhaps what is his best known role, Joel Miller in The Last of Us.

The only Latina honoree among next year’s Hollywood Walk of Fame class is Karol G.

The Colombian superstar will be recognized for her contributions to music in the recording field. When there was a reggaeton revival in the past decade, Karol G emerged as one of the top women in the male-dominated genre. Since then, Karol G has made history as the first female artist to top the Billboard 200 chart with an all-Spanish album (2023’s Mañana Será Bonito) and the first Latina to headline Coachella earlier this year.

The honorees have within the next two years to schedule their star ceremonies.
