Estefania Castañeda Pérez is a PhD candidate at the UCLA Department of Political Science researching the injurious effects of state violence at the Mexico-U.S. border on the lives of transborder commuters. As a transborder student raised in the Tijuana-San Diego borderlands, she splits her time between Tijuana and Los Angeles in a borderless pursuit of education. Her writing appears on NACLA.
