Monica Uszerowicz is a writer and photographer in Miami. She has contributed to Hyperallergic, the Miami Rail (an independent expansion of the Brooklyn Rail), Creators/VICE, V, Artsy, Bon Appétit, and Avidly, a channel of the LA Review of Books. Her hero is Welcome Back Kotter's Juan Epstein, a fellow Puerto Rican Jew who also hated gym class.
