Sabia McCoy-Torres is Ph.D. of social and cultural anthropology, and Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Africana Studies at Tulane University. Her research focuses on the African Diaspora in Latin America and the Caribbean, race, popular music and culture. She is a proud native New Yorker hailing from the Bronx.
