Victoria Ruiz is the chingona vocalist for political bands Downtown Boys and Malportado Kids from Providence, Rhode Island. She is currently working on a new record for Downtown Boys that will be out this summer. She is a community activist and writer and truly wants the police state to be abolished because of its nuclear role in racism and capitalism. In Providence, she works on reproductive rights issues and supporting organizations that fight for power and justice for people of color and against police brutality and white supremacy. Her heroes are James Baldwin and her grandma.
