It’s been a little more than three weeks since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck broke the internet and announced they had gotten married in Las Vegas 18 years after they broke off their first engagement.
After spending their honeymoon in Paris, the newlyweds are back stateside, which means they’ll have to spend some time apart as they work on separate projects. That has led to many a rumor that the couple is going to split. But that’s apparently not true.
A source close to Lopez recently told Hollywood Life that basically laid it out that spending time apart is a natural part of their relationship due to the busy careers they both lead. In fact, they believe it could be a good thing.
“The one thing that makes their relationship so unique is that they do know more than anyone else the demands that come with doing what they do,” the source said. “They actually believe that spending time apart from each other makes them stronger, and it is perfect because when they are apart, they are making an extreme amount of money. It is a win-win situation.”
The source adds: “They are always talking, texting, FaceTiming, and even camming when they are apart working. And the time that they spend away from each other makes reuniting again that much better. JLo loves the fact that she knows her husband will be there for her no matter what.”
Up next for Lopez are two films that are in post-production – The Mother and Shotgun Wedding. In The Mother, Lopez will play a female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter. In Shotgun Wedding, she plays a bride-to-be who, along with her fiancé Tom (Josh Duhamel), are taken hostage during their destination wedding.
JLo also has two film in the pre-production phase – The Godmother, where she will play Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, and Atlas, a sci-fi thriller where she will play a military officer in pursuit of an intergalactic terrorist who murdered her family.
