Bad Bunny made his debut as a co-chair at the prestigious Met Gala 2024. Not only was the Puerto Rican icon part of the co-chairs this year, but he was also one of this year’s talked-about looks. Per usual, the Met Gala 2024 took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art today (May 6) on the first Monday of May.
This year, Bad Bunny took his fashion a step further. He dressed up in the custom French luxury fashion house Maison Margiela. His outfit featured black leather gloves, signature exposed seams, all while holding black flowers. Another added touch to hit attire is a black beret and dark, diamond-shaped sunglasses.
Social media users are into his outfit. A journalist guessed the outfit right from a photo Benito posted last month.
A social media user and creative consultant wrote: “Bad Bunny wearing Maison Margiela! 10/10 #MetGala.” Another social media user commented: “a man i can rely on to eat on the Gala Carpet, thank u Bad Bunny🤭.”
Some even caught the reference to Count Axel from the Garden of Time short story the Met Gala theme is based on this year.
This marks the third time Benito attends the Met Gala. This year’s theme is “The Garden of Time.” Vogue previously described the theme as “a celebration of clothing and fashion so fragile that it can’t ever be worn again – and are therefore sleeping beauties in the scrupulously maintained archives of The Costume Institute.”
Other co-chairs this year include Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and Chris Hemsworth. Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew are also part of the grand evening as Honorary Chairs. The evening’s hosts are actor Gwendoline Christie, producer and actor La La Anthony, and model Ashley Graham.
