Everyone has probably wished sometime in their life that they could change something about their appearance. A smaller chin. A tighter tummy. A smoother complexion.

There are also some people, of course, who would like to have the same body or features as a popular celebrity. One woman took her desire to look like socialite and businesswoman Kim Kardashian to a whole new level. Then, she decided to reverse the procedures she had undergone.

After spending nearly $600,000 on 40 plastic surgery procedures to achieve the same physical features as the reality show star, Brazilian model Jennifer Pamplona was forced to stop when she was diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder. The Mayo Clinic defines the disorder as a mental health condition where a person cannot stop thinking about what they believe to be flaws in their appearance.

According to the New York Post, Pamplona spent an additional $120,000 to reverse some of the changes she made to her body over the last 12 years.

“I discovered that I was addicted to surgery, and I wasn’t happy,” she said. “I was putting filler in my face like I was in the supermarket. It was an addiction, and I got into a cycle of surgery [that] equals fame and money. I just lost control of everything. I went through a lot of hard times.”

After having a face, eye, neck and lip lift, cheek reduction surgery and a nose job – and experiencing complications from the procedures – Pamplona is just happy it’s all over.

“The best feeling is knowing I’m not in a fight with myself anymore,” she said. “I am now who I want to be, and I really now understand the meaning of life.”
