Comedian Cheddy García has a message for Yailin La Más Viral, one that should resonate with women from all walks of life. The comedian took to Instagram and shared a picture of the People en Español cover of Anuel AA and Yailin and took the time to not just celebrate them but give some advice.

“I hope they last,” she started saying, explaining that she likes stories with a happy ending. But she also went on to say that she hopes Yailin gets to do more than just be Anuel’s wife, and that she hopes the singer achieves things that stay with her forever, like “a career, better management, better education, learning languages, growing, becoming an entrepreneur, start a business and succeed because of her own effort, even while having the support of a partner.”

That wasn’t all, García also added that having a rich and famous partner wasn’t a trophy and that men come and go but women will always have what we’ve learned and achieved through our own means. It’s a great message, and a great reminder, that has absolutely nothing to do with Anuel and Yailin’s relationship.

As an example, Garcia even brought up JLO as someone who can be proud of her own accomplishments. Even so, she still celebrated Anuel for having Yailin’s back, particularly amid all the online vitriol directed at her. However, the message of her post was clearly more about Yailin, and women, than anything else.

Women, no matter their level of fame or what they do for a living, are more than the partners they choose, and they shouldn’t be defined by who they’re with, but what they are and what they do for themselves. That’s a message we can all get behind.
