If there is only one thing that rappers Anuel AA and Yailin la Más Viral want people to know after they read their recent interview with People en Español, it’s that they are, in fact, in love – and neither of them is losing any sleep over what critics have to say about them.
“We are like two kids together,” Yailin said. “I like my relationship because we are ourselves.”
Anuel & Yailin, who People en Español referred to as “the couple of the moment,” spoke to the publication from their home in Miami about everything from how they initially met on Instagram to how Anuel likes to show his affection by buying Yailin gifts. They also discussed how they handle negative comments on social media and how they envision parts of their wedding.
Yailin, who described her and Anuel’s personalities as similarly “toxic,” moved to Miami to live with Anuel, but the two also have a home in the Dominican Republic. They met online when they both slid into each other’s DMs.
While their courtship was short, the couple were ready to take their relationship to the next level and got engaged this past January. They also dropped a song together on Valentine’s Day. Anuel also started removing some of the evidence of his past relationship with Karol G, a topic of conversation that Yailin would rather not engage in.
“Yes, he knows who I really am,” Yailin said, “People only see what they see on social media.”
She adds, “We are us – the same person in different bodies.”
For Anuel AA, any negative comments that come his or Yailin la Más Viral’s way, they’ve gotten used to. “It’s normal now,” he said. “One gets up famous and goes to bed famous. I don’t even say it, but that’s how it is.”
