Coachella 2009: Molotov, Bajofondo, Zizek y más

It’s that time of the year again folks! One of the best music festivals around has announced this year’s lineup. Coachella has always been friendly to Latin bands (they gave us Cafeta last year) and this April 17-19 Indio, California will welcome Mexican rockers Molotov, electro-tango collective Bajofondo (could Cerati make an appearance!?), our favorite Argentine DJs Zizek, Camilo Lara’s awesome Mexican Institute of Sound and Thievery Corporation. Headliners are Sir Paul McCartney, The Cure (can’t never go wrong with the ’80s) and The Killers.

Sure, we would have loved to have a few more Latin acts in there, but there’s always room for bands to be added, and dreaming about getting down to Zizek’s cumbia beats in the desert is enough reason for us to wanna save our bucks and go. Plus, Coachella is well aware of the tough economy and it’s allowing concertgoers to layaway tix. Das right, we can pay up in three parts, or half and half.
