Did You Know Chris Evans’ Wife is Luso-Brazilian?

Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger) is now a father and husband. The Marvel star exchanged vows with actress Alba Baptista (Warrior Nun) in an intimate ceremony on September 10, 2023. And according to TMZ, they have now quietly welcomed their first child on Friday, October 24, 2025 in Massachusetts.
Baptista, who is best known for playing the title character in two seasons of Netflix’s fantasy drama Warrior Nun, was born in Lisbon, Portugal, to a Portuguese mother and a Brazilian father from Rio de Janeiro. Elsa and Luiz met when she was apparently working in Brazil as a translator. Both moved to Portugal where they had Alba.
Since starting her acting career, Alba has worked on Portuguese shows like Jogo Duplo, A Impostora, and A Criação. But she skyrocketed in popularity in her English debut on Netflix’s Warrior Nun. The supernatural series is about an orphaned teen who discovers she has supernatural powers after acquiring the Halo. What follows are a sect of demon-hunting nuns and a complex mythology.
As for the nuptials, they took place at their home in the Boston area. A source told Page Six that guests were required to sign NDAs and were not allowed to take their cell phones to the wedding. Along with the families of the bride and groom, some of the guests included a few of Evans’ Marvel co-stars like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner.
Rumors of a romance began heating up in November 2022 when Evans and Baptista were seen holding hands in Central Park, although a source told People magazine that the couple had already been dating for “over a year.” The source added: “They are in love, and Chris has never been happier.”
After winning People’s Sexiest Man Alive last year, he told the magazine that settling down and “building a family” was “absolutely something” he wanted. “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared,” he said. “I can’t think of anything better.”
