Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady are officially filing for divorce on Friday (October 28), according to People. The split, which saw the couple publicly struggling for months, is the end of their 13-year marriage.
Bündchen and Brady released statements via their Instagram pages Friday morning.
“With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce,” said Bündchen. “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting and give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve.”
“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years or marriage,” Brady said. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way.”
According to rumors that have been circulating for ages, the split stemmed from Brady’s decision to come out of retirement (again) only months after announcing he was officially done playing football. That led to marital stress with Bündchen and the family as a whole.
Before the announcement, the public perception of their relationship got so wild that rumors even circulated that Gisele Bündchen was a witch who was using her powers to affect Tom Brady’s on-the-field performance negatively. His on-the-field performance has been so bad this season that this story didn’t seem far-fetched to many people.
