The Estefans have been steady winning this month. On Your Feet! officially debuted on Broadway, and despite mixed reviews, it’s been selling well. Last week, Emilio Estefan got to grind up on an 83 year-old Rita Moreno at the NYC premiere of HBO’s The Latin Explosion: A New America (which may be the most winning-est moment of his life tbh). Now, to add to their month of success, Gloria and Emilio will be awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama. On Monday, the White House announced that 17 people will be honored on November 24.

“I look forward to presenting these 17 distinguished Americans with our nation’s highest civilian honor,” Obama said. “From public servants who helped us meet defining challenges of our time to artists who expanded our imaginations, from leaders who have made our union more perfect to athletes who have inspired millions of fans, these men and women have enriched our lives and helped define our shared experience as Americans.”

Obama has already gone to Hamilton, so I’m fully expecting him to hit up On Your Feet! next.
