A new, limited-edition fashion collection titled “What Glory We Are,” from Los Angeles-based designers Kids of Immigrants (KOI), in collaboration with Buchanan’s Scotch Whisky, is celebrating the Latine immigrants living in the United States who consider themselves 100% Latine and 100% American.

“It’s in the duality that exists in between two different cultures, traditions and languages coming together to make us 200%,” said Kids of Immigrants co-founder Daniel Buezo in a statement. “It’s an appreciation of our roots and a celebration of our uniqueness.”

The collection includes a beanie ($35), hoodie ($100) and sweatpants ($90). And the campaign is geared to Latines who are “living the best of both worlds by embracing their cultural experiences, perspective, and self-expression through food, music, sports, traditions, and more.”

The beanie, hoodie, and sweatpants include signature KOI designs and incorporate phrases like, “We are all cut from different fabrics, but together we make a whole 200%.”

All proceeds from the collection will benefit the Los Angeles-based nonprofit group No Us Without You LA, whose mission is to provide food security to immigrant families in the Los Angeles area. The organization was founded in 2020 by bartenders Othón Nolasco and Damián Diaz. It provides support to more than 1,200 families and can feed a family of four for one week with $33.

“We’re not going to quit doing a food security program because it’s really important,” Nolasco told JamesBeard.com. “We’re literally feeding mothers and small children.”

The new KOI collection will be released nationwide on January 18, 2022.
