The New York presidential primary is less than three weeks away, and with 247 delegates at stake, it could be a pivotal moment for the Democratic candidates. Both are campaigning hard in NYC this week, with Hillary Clinton drawing huge crowds at event at Harlem’s Apollo Theater on Wednesday, and Bernie Sanders expected to draw large support today at a rally in the South Bronx. Sanders will be joined by Rosario Dawson and René Pérez, aka Residente, both of whom have been outspoken supporters of his.
Dawson hit the campaign trail with Bernie and introduced him at several rallies, and she recently defended him after Dolores Huerta wrote a letter questioning his voting record. In the past, Residente has equally thrown himself into politics. On top of using his music to speak out about immigration, he also used the 2014 Latin Grammys as a way to protest the Mexican government’s inaction on the missing 43 students from a teachers college in Ayotzinapa.
For those who can’t make it today, Bernie Sanders Speeches & Events will live stream the entire event. Check it out above at 7 p.m. ET.
