If You Haven’t Updated iOS, Diverse Emoji Turn into… Aliens

As soon as news broke that Apple had finally pushed out racially diverse emoji as part of their iOS 8.3 update, I downloaded it and started texting flawless brown emoji princesses to all my friends.

I was expecting a rain of brown and black emoji praise hands in return, but instead I got this response:

Wait what.

Upon further investigation, I realized that for those who have yet to download the new iOS, an unfortunate Apple bug turns new emoji into little aliens.  In other words, it turns this:

into this:

The symbolism here is unfortunate and probably unintentional. But still, people of color = aliens? :thumbsdown:
