Whether you agree with the comparison or not, there are countless people online who think actresses Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) and Rosie Perez (The Flight Attendant) look alike.
“Jenna Ortega is giving young Rosie Perez [vibes], and now I want them to do a movie together,” one Twitter user wrote.
Some users online are posting photos of a younger Perez next to Ortega, who is 20 years old. Perez was 25 years old when she made her big screen debut in Spike Lee’s 1989 film Do the Right Thing.
Some people thought that Ortega could pass for Perez’s daughter. “Jenna Ortega parece la hija de Rosie Pérez no?” one user wrote.
If not a daughter, then maybe a niece. Pick a family member. Ortega and Perez must be related. “Alguien castee a Jenna Ortega como nieta de Rosie Perez,” another user wrote.
Comparisons were being made as recently as Ortega’s appearance at the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards this past weekend. “Never realized how much Jenna Ortega and Rosie Perez look alike,” someone wrote next to a photo of Ortega on the red carpet dressed in an all-black Versace gown.
Some people who saw the photo of Ortega at the SAG Awards actually thought it was a photo of Perez. “For a hot second I thought this was Rosie Perez,” they wrote.
For some people, the similarities between the two actresses are so obvious, you’d be crazy not to think so. “Jenna Ortega looks SO much like Rosie Perez, it’s insane,” one person posted.
Someone else brought actress Aubrey Plaza into the conversation, too, since one of the best moments during the SAG ceremony was when Ortega and Plaza presented an award together and joked about how they had nothing in common.
Even current black-and-white photos of Ortega are being mistaken for old photos of Perez.
We’re not going to start calling Ortega “Baby Rosie Perez,” but we have to admit, it’s a cute nickname.
