Britney Spears is no longer staying quiet when dealing with controversy or criticism from those in her life. In a recent dust-up, Spears was put into an unfavorable light by her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Federline recently shared videos of Spears allegedly yelling at her teenage sons. The moment of parenting that Federline shared caught the media’s attention, and the singer started to push back. Spears, whose 13-year conservatorship ended less than a year ago, took to Instagram to call out her ex-husband and share her feelings of betrayal and pain.
Also, Spears shared a photo of her and JLo in a now-deleted Instagram post. Attached to the post in the caption, Spear quoted what JLo said to her daughter Emme during her Super Bowl performance in the Halftime documentary.
“As Jennifer Lopez once said, ‘You look right down that camera and tell every little girl in the world to get loud and never ever back down to giving light to injustice’,” Spears wrote on Instagram. She followed that up with her own words and said, “I’m here to share that freedom is a state of mind!”
In response, J.Lo simply stated on Twitter, “❤️❤️❤️ @BritneySpears #StayStrong 💪.” The moment of support comes as Spears continues to push back against her ex-husband’s choice to publicize her parenting.
The social media feud between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline is an example of the lack of privacy for the parenting styles of public figures. And with Spears right in the eye of the media for every move she makes since the end of her conservatorship, we can only imagine the pressure she’s under and her need to use her voice in any way she can.
