Los Angeles-based brand Kids of Immigrants has partnered with the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) to release a new capsule collection today (April 16) that celebrates and supports immigrant communities. The “Love Beyond Borders” collection includes a t-shirt, hoodie, and tote bag. All of the profits will be donated to CHIRLA’s Know Your Rights initiative and Youth Scholarships.

“This collaboration is about resilience, celebrating immigrant culture, and the power of community,” said Daniel Buezo, CEO & co-founder at Kids Of Immigrants, in a press release. “By joining forces with CHIRLA, we’re not only creating wearable statements of solidarity but also actively contributing to programs that protect and uplift our people.”

The campaign sheds light on one way to support immigrant communities at a time when immigrants in the U.S. are under attack: the number of people in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention is at an all-time high, federal funding for programs including legal representation for migrant children and refugee resettlement are on the chopping block, and the government has resumed mass deportations, including the erroneous deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who the U.S. government accidentally deported to El Salvador.

“CHIRLA is honored to join forces with the talent and passion of Kids Of Immigrants in a critical moment when our dignity, well-being, and legacy as immigrants are being attacked,” said Angelica Salas, executive director for CHIRLA.

Based in California, CHIRLA was founded in 1986 to advance the human and civil rights of immigrants and refugees. Today, it’s one of the largest advocacy organizations for immigrant rights.

Kids of Immigrants is known for the inspiring messaging on its apparel that promote themes of unity, collaboration, overcoming, and community. The items on this collection feature words and phrases such as, “love” and “our parents planted dreams that grew roots beyond borders.”

The campaign also features visual components produced by locally loved Mexican-American, first-generation creatives, with photography by beloved Los Angeles photographer Estevan Oriol and a video by Bay Area-raised director David Camarena. They feature vendors, artists, elders, organizers, creatives, and youth with the hope to authentically represent the vibrant stories and dreams of immigrant communities.

The “Love Beyond Borders” collection is now available at kidsofimmigrants.us for a limited time.
