For one night only, the hit Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club will put on an interactive performance. The dance-along version of the show will be hosted next month by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The Buena Vista Social Club musical is based around songs of the iconic Cuban group of the same name. Many of the band’s members like Omara Portuondo, Ibrahim Ferrer, and Rubén González are portrayed in the musical.

The show formally debuted on Broadway on February 21, 2025 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Later that year, Buena Vista Social Club received 10 nominations at the Tony Awards. Buena Vista Social Club are known for their son Cubano, bolero, and danzón sounds, which have captivated audiences on Broadway. Now fans of the show will have a chance to move to the band’s music.

On March 26, Miranda will host a special dance-along version of Buena Vista Social Club at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. When the actors on stage are dancing to the classics of Buena Vista Social Club, the audience will also have the opportunity to get up from their seats and move to the music.

In a video on Instagram, Miranda explained the premise behind this interactive experience. “Ever since this Tony and Grammy-winning show opened, everyone has fallen in love with it and said to me: ‘I wish I could dance along with them. They just look so incredible up there,'” he said. “So we’re going to try this for a night. I will be there dancing along with you in the audience. Let’s go!”
