A Missouri woman accused of burning down three different businesses in Puerto Rico has now been allegedly arrested. The latest update comes after ATF took over jurisdiction of the case that started over New Year after the woman, who has been identified as Danielle Bertothy, supposedly set fire to three businesses and damaged others in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.

The businesses have been identified as Marinera, Bar Marea, and Artesania Juavia. Police in Cabo Rojo were called to remove her from the premises before Bertothy allegedly came back at night with a gasoline can and set the businesses on fire. She then allegedly left Puerto Rico for Missouri.

Daniela Velázquez, a Puerto Rican Alderperson from Missouri has been posting updates about the case on X, formerly Twitter, updating her constitutions and putting pressure on Missouri police to cooperate with the investigation.

One of the latest ones includes a video that seems to show the moment the alleged arsonist was arrested by the ATF. It was allegedly taken by a neighbor in Missouri. The woman was reportedly suspended indefinitely by her employer, HLK Agency when she returned home to Missouri from Puerto Rico after they were informed of what had occurred during her New Year’s visit to the island.

There has been no confirmation about whether Bertothy is set to face charges in Puerto Rico, but considering the crimes took place in Puerto Rico, that seems the most likely scenario. With the incident being caught on video, the investigation into what occurred has been very quick.

Marea Bar and Artesania Juavia currently have a GoFundMe to rebuild. They have so far raised over $150k.
