On Sunday, expensive, beloved asset Neymar da Silva Sanos Júnior confirmed he’s staying at Paris Saint-Germain, the team he’s called home for three years. Though there were murmurs of his possible return to Barcelona, the 28-year-old said “I am staying at PSG next season… with the ambition to return to the Champions League final, this time to win it.”

And, as life is a balancing act of wins and losses, the Brazilian father of one, and Nike, his sponsor of 15 years, will reportedly be parting ways.

The deal officially ends tomorrow, Sept. 1. Nike has reportedly sponsored Neymar since the age of 13. But, Puma—who sponsors Manchester City and AC Milan—already has their eye on the prize and hopes to take Neymar under their wing. The German brand has a half-a-decade contract with the Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma and is currently in the running to be Team India’s kit sponsor.

As we know, separations have become all-too-common during this arduous time. Take Maluma and Natalia Barulích or Lionel Messi and Barça, for example. That being said, you lose some you gain some. We look forward to seeing who Neymar enters an entanglement with next.
