Social media can be a wild and unpredictable place filled with misinformation and trolls out for clout. Pabllo Vittar and RuPaul are the latest personalities targeted by someone on social media seeking clout by creating drama where there is no drama. Fortunately, RuPaul isn’t one to be quiet so the drama was resolved as quickly as it was artificially created.

According to Out, a Twitter user claims that RuPaul blocked them 20 minutes after they posted about the Brazilian international drag queen popstar performing at Coachella. The tweet and subsequent follow-up caused a stir on gay Twitter with Out magazine reporting on the moment based on the Twitter user’s claims.

Well, Mama Ru is not one to be quiet when her name is used to earn clout over something. In a tweet, the international drag queen superstar called out the trolls that continue to try to stir controversy using her name. She is unapologetic in announcing her love and support of Vittar and called out the troll.

Shortly after, Vittar showed her love back.

The current faux controversy is unoriginal at best. Fans have previously speculated that Vittar and RuPaul are having beef after Vittar unfollowed RuPaul on Instagram. Vittar took the time to respond then telling her fans to cut it out with the drama.

“Stop [pitting us against each other as rivals]. This is ugly as hell. The fact of following [someone] or not doesn’t take away the respect I have for mother Ru,” Vittar tweeted. “If I am a drag queen today, it was because her show showed me that it was possible. I love and respect and hope to meet her one day.”

Be careful what you fall for on social media, kids. Not everything is as it seems.
