Oscar-nominated actress Salma Hayek (Frida) was honored on Saturday (November 11) with the “Giving Tree Award” from the nationally recognized nonprofit organization Baby2Baby, which provides more than one million children across the U.S. living in poverty with diapers, formula and clothing each year.

Hayek was recognized for her support to children in need across the globe and especially her work with the Salma Hayek Foundation, which “assists battered women and underprivileged children in Mexico.” The “Giving Tree Award” was presented to her by actor Channing Tatum, her co-star in the 2023 sequel, Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

“For 10 years, I’ve followed the amazing work that Baby2Baby has done, and it represents every single thing Salma cares about the most – children, babies, moms, and women,” Tatum said. “Salma, thank you for always being a source of inspiration.”

Tatum also described Hayek as “one of the most magical and mystically intuitive beings that has … ever walked this earth.”

Upon accepting the award from Tatum, Hayek returned the love and said that “Channing is like family to us. He’s Channing Tatum Pinault Hayek. We absolutely adore him. Such a good heart.”

During her speech, Hayek added that she was “thrilled” that she was included in the celebration of such an important organization like Baby2Baby. “I can feel the love in this Baby2Baby community,” she said. “I am such a big fan of this organization. I have a lot of respect for it.”

Hayek added: “Dignity is an essential. Diapers are dignity, make no mistake. Everything you donate and everything that Baby2Baby brings – there is an intention, not just money. It is love. It is compassion. It is caring. We are interconnected – baby to baby.”

Other Latina celebrities at the Baby2Baby gala included Zoe Saldaña, Jessica Alba, Camila Alves McConaughey, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jordana Brewster, Vanessa Bryant, Dany Garcia and Demi Lovato.
