If you love Halloween and Selena, you’re about to have the best October ever. At a still unspecified date in October, the M•A•C + Selena beauty line will drop. A Limited Edition Purple Vinyl of Ones will drop on October 14. Exactly a week later, the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame will honor Selena. And that’s all before Halloween even happens.

On Thursday, the Governor’s Commission for Women announced it will induct Selena and four other women for their contributions to the state of Texas. The Women’s Hall of Fame accepts nominations twice a year for women with ties to the Lone Star State. Not that we need another reason to celebrate Selena, but the governor’s site summed it up quite nicely. “Selena’s story transcends cultural differences and continues to inspire people around the world,” the Gov. Greg Abbott’s site noted. “She is remembered as an icon for her musical accomplishments as well as for the joy that the memory of her charismatic personality continues to bring to her fans.”

The ceremony will take place on October 21 at the Texas Woman’s University in Denton. The hall of fame will also welcome the late Emma Carter Browning, Susie Hitchock-Hall, Renu Khator, and NASA’s first Latina flight director Ginger Kerrick. On top of Kerrick’s important work with NASA, she also promotes STEM careers at schools and non-profit events.
