NYC’s iconic Summerstage series line up was announced this morning, featuring an interesting array of international acts and timeless performers. This year is their 30th anniversary, and City Parks Foundation is setting themselves up for another summer of music, arts, and festivities at the Rumsfield Playfield and other special locations scattered throughout the five boroughs.
This year, Fania is back, and we’re pleased to announce that they will have salsa legend Ismael Miranda at the festival. LAMC, the Latin American Music Conference, will be hosting special guests like Compass (the collaborative work of Toy Selectah and Mexican Institute of Sound), along with Systema Solar, Ximena Sariñana, Helado Negro and more.
If that wasn’t enough, we’re hyped at the aspect of catching some of our favorite new acts at the festival, including the mesmerizing twin sisters, Ibeyi, singer and rapper Danay Suarez, and NYC’s hip hop saviors, Ratking. Take a minute to let these thoughts of dope music and warm summer vibes revitalize you; this winter is finally over.
