A month after Cardi B posted an Instagram Live video getting a face tattoo, the icon has finally revealed the significance of the ink and what’s actually written.

In another Instagram Live post, Cardi B pulled her hair to the side to show her 41,000 followers who were watching at the time that the tattoo she received in red ink above her jawline was her son’s name, Wave. It was a quick glimpse, but the tattoo looked like it was covered in makeup.

“I tatted my son’s name because I love him,” Cardi B said on the video. She also revealed a previously unknown tattoo she got of her daughter’s name, Kulture, on her upper arm.

When the video of Cardi B getting the tattoo first dropped last month, fans questioned her decision to choose her face as the place for this new ink. The criticism continued when she showed everyone the tat. “Face tats are ALWAYS a bad idea,” one Twitter user posted.

This past January, she tweeted that she wanted to get her son’s name tattooed on her face. “Random but ….I’m 1% close [to] tatting my son’s name on my face….I really really wanna do it!”

“I want mine on my jaw,” she added.

It took her seven months to get it done, but one thing’s for sure – if Cardi B has her sights set on something, she’s more than likely going to do it. It’s probably true, too, when she’s planning extravagant birthday parties.
