Fans of Eva Mendes have been overjoyed to see the actress so active on social media for the last couple of months. The movie star told hosts on The View that she had taken a long break from posting online because she felt “phony” doing it.

“I wanted to [be] more genuine, but not seek it out,” she said. “My last post was me on a Ferris wheel, and I was like, ‘What am I doing?!’”

If anything will make Mendes feel like less of a pretender online, it’s sharing something with fans that reminds them of her Cuban roots. Late last week, the Hitch star took to Instagram with a video to promote her new line of dish sponges in Spanish.

“I am Cuban! And you?! Coño!” Mendes wrote in English alongside the short clip. “Fortunately, the products [Skura Style] help me keep my kitchen spotless.”

In the video, Mendes jokingly tells her Cuban fans that they’re not really Cuban if they don’t keep up with their chores in the kitchen. “If you don’t wash your dishes, you are not Cuban,” she said. “If you don’t keep a clean kitchen, you are not Cuban.” Now, we’re wondering if that’s how upset Mendes gets if her husband, Ryan Gosling, forgets to do the dishes.

Since returning to social media to promote her new sponges, Mendes has also found time to gush about her hubby’s career. She posted a poster from his upcoming movie The Gray Man and commented on his new look as Ken in the Barbie movie.

“So. F. Funny. So. F. Good. So F excited for you to see this,” Eva Mendes wrote. “#Thatsmyken.”
