Talk about keeping a big secret. While on a press tour in Australia, actress Eva Mendes (Girl in Progress) seemingly confirmed that she and actor Ryan Gosling (La La Land) are married after she called him her “husband” during an interview with Channel Nine’s Today show.

Mendes is in the Land Down Under where Gosling is shooting his new action drama, The Fall Guy, alongside Emily Blunt (Sicario) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nocturnal Animals). “Everyone is so welcoming here and my husband Ryan is here, and we are having the best time,” she said.

During another interview on the Kyle and Jackie O Show podcast, Mendes was asked if there was any truth to the recent rumors that the couple secretly tied the knot. Mendes was coy with her answer. “But who says we weren’t already?” she said. “I like to keep it all mysterious. I’m a very mysterious woman.”

Last week, Mendes added to the wedding speculation when she posted a photo of herself online showing off a tattoo she has on the inside of her left wrist. The text of the tattoo reads, “de Gosling,” which led people to believe this was a sign that the marriage was official. In many Spanish-speaking cultures, a husband’s last name is sometimes added to the end of the wife’s last name and separated by the conjunction “de” (of).

Eva Mendes’ “de Gosling” tattoo, however, isn’t new. During the Kyle and Jackie O Show interview, she joked that the tattoo was fake, but then said that she got it “years ago.” So, if the couple is married, it likely happened a while back and belated congratulations are in order.
