Fans of the New York Yankees were not happy on Sunday. It’s hard to blame them after getting swept in the American League Championship Series by the Houston Astros. But they did not reserve their booing just for their own players, as Texas Senator Ted Cruz found out.

As Cruz was leaving Yankee stadium decked out in Astros colors, fans let Cruz know how they really felt.

Those in the stands were yelling out, “F–ck you, you racist piece of sh-t!” followed by “You’re a disgrace!” and “Remember when Trump called your wife ugly and then you nominated him? Remember when those insurrectionists wanted to murder you? Get out of New York!”

Ted Cruz also faced backlash from protestors during an interview with The View that forced the show to go to a commercial break.

The protesters can be hard to hear over Cruz’s voice, but it seems they were upset about Cruz not doing enough to combat climate change. Host Whoopi Goldberg eventually had to reign in control and address the protesters.

“Excuse me! Ladies, ladies! Excuse us! Let us do our jobs,” Whoopi said. “Let us do our job. We hear what you have to say, but you gotta go! You gotta go, you gotta let us do our job.”

Cruz’s time in New York City has been eventful, that is for sure. Whether it is being dragged in person or on social media, Cruz is a divisive figure whose actions are often called out. Nobody knows if there is yet another venue in New York City for Cruz to be yelled at, but if he does, he can always abandon the controversy and flee to Cancun.
