Who: Ilse Valfré is a Mexican artist and illustrator born in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora. She is now based in Los Angeles, and her creative touch has led her to develop an impressive resume: She’s been a model, a pre-school teacher, children’s book author, fashion designer and now, up and coming actress. She has said of how growing up in Tijuana influenced her, “There is a lot of frustration in my hometown, but I believe that that is one of the reasons why it is full of street art. You see, frustration and sadness make people create beautiful things. Growing up looking at the street art inspired me to be creative myself.”
Why You Should Follow: Her Instagram is full of her whimsical and dreamy illustrations and characters, often depicting pastels and badass girly girls. Her brand is perfect for the girl who is into cotton candy, mermaids, and a little brujería thrown in. She has fans in fellow babes Melanie Martinez and Kali Uchis, who’ve both been spotted with her adorable designs.
