Here’s Everything That Went Down at Boiler Room x PATRÓN With Nathy Peluso

On Aug. 14, PATRÓN Tequila kicked off its global partnership with Boiler Room in Ibiza, Spain. And the first artist to inaugurate the series of music experiences was none other than Nathy Peluso with her Club Grasa. The entire night was a celebration of club culture, Afrodiasporic music, Peluso’s chaotically infectious energy, and too many influencers.

Well-known for its nightlife and electronic music scene, Ibiza hosted the first of three Boiler Room x PATRÓN Tequila global events. Curated by the Argentinian-Spanish icon herself, Club Grasa’s set included back-to-back sets by Afri K and Chris Collins with Zsongo Club, as well as DJs Ylam, Edna Martinez, and Klandestina. Bonekinha Iraqiana played her set after Peluso’s performance.

The sounds fueling the night were a Latine and Afrodiasporic mix, like amapiano, Afrohouse, champeta, Afrobeats, and dembow — live bongos and dancers included, courtesy of Zsongo Club. Martinez infused Middle Eastern influences and rhythms, and Collins lit up the venue by playing popular tracks, like Pitbull’s “Culo.”

Just past midnight, Peluso came out in a bedazzled onesie, dancing to a mix of Cardi B’s “WAP,” played by Afri K. Pushing through a mic malfunction like a pro, Peluso shifted her attention to dance and interact with the crowd, dancers, and influencer and actor friends while standing on a mini stage in front of the DJ deck. Once the mic worked, she sang snippets of some of her hits, including “SANA SANA,” “Real,” and “MENINA,” mixed by Afri K and Collins.

Peluso was all energy, demonstrating her signature theatrical delivery, not missing a beat in between all the beautiful chaos going on in front and behind the turntables. As “GRASA” flags waved in the background, the “EROTIKA” singer was everyone’s best hype woman, meeting the dancers at their level and, why, yes, a lot of ass shaking and screaming encouragement when others shook theirs. The Boiler Room audience especially lit up with mixes of Rema’s “OZEBA,” Travis Scott’s “RE!N,” and the club remix of Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right, But It’s OK.”

“Our partnership with Boiler Room is the next beat in our deep-rooted commitment to music and culture,” Roberto Ramirez-Laverde, Global Senior Vice President of PATRÓN Tequila, said in a statement. “Guided by our shared belief – that greatness comes from leading with authenticity, not following the crowd, together we’re creating spaces where greatness rises as music, community, and spirits converge – delivering memorable moments that move culture forward.”

From Spanish actors Arón Piper and Paco León to Ibiza-born singer Aleesha, the crowd at the first installments in the Boiler Room x PATRÓN partnership was mostly all special guests from Spain and the U.K. While the event’s guest list set a more exclusive tone, opening the doors to more fans and locals could take future editions even further, really leaning into the “community” part of the brand’s ethos. Some DJ sets (beyond Peluso’s, of course) deserved just as much hype and love, and it would’ve been exciting to see that amplified. But regardless, in true Boiler Room fashion, the people dancing behind the deck on-camera and even as audience members in front of Peluso brought all of the energy that made it a night for the books, worthy of a YouTube replay when available. The female DJs also showed up for one another, dancing to each other’s sets or encouraging those outside to join when not behind the decks themselves.

The next Boiler Room x PATRÓN Tequila experiences will take place in London and Los Angeles. Each installment, like Peluso’s, will be co-produced with yet-to-be-announced globally renowned artists fusing local soundscapes. Reportedly, the performances will be available on Boiler Room TV’s channels after each live event.
