30 Soothing Songs to Soundtrack Your Next Road Trip, Selected by Colombia’s Moügli

One of the local acts that grabbed our attention during last month’s edition of Bogotá’s Hermoso Ruido festival was Colombian duo Moügli. Band members Juan Pablo Delgado and Samuel Lizarralde create cinematic sonic journeys through Colombian landscapes, from the jungle to the Andean mountains, and add indigenous instrumentation to their dance floor-ready electronic productions. The result is something they call “jungle beat,” and once you’re surrounded by field recordings of local fauna, percussion-heavy beats, and the overall natural mysticism of the songs that appear on their debut EP, Lado A, you’ll totally understand why.

Moügli are bringing their sound to the U.S. They’re wrapping up their first American tour, which took them to New York City and Miami so far. The pair kindly curated an exclusive Apple Music playlist with a selection of road trip-friendly tunes, a soundtrack for long flights and car rides. The playlist features fellow Colombian artists like Bomba Estéreo, Mitú, Salt Cathedral, Systema Solar, and Jhon Montoya, as well as collaborator Mateo Kingman, Ibeyi, NOIA, and classics by Natalia Lafourcade and Gustavo Cerati.

Check Moügli live in Los Angeles this week, and check out their recently released Lado B EP.
