WHAT HAPPENED?

The AC Milan forward, who enjoyed a career-best year in front of goal at club level in 2023-24, was on target for the United States as they opened their Copa America campaign with a 2-0 victory over Bolivia. Pulisic also posted an assist in that contest while donning the captain’s armband.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The USMNT continue to look to Pulisic for inspiration, with the 25-year-old having been a talismanic presence in their ranks for some time. He is a Champions League winner from his time at Chelsea and an experienced performer that knows all about competing at the very highest level.

DID YOU KNOW?

He delivered again when it matters most against Bolivia, with his goal in that contest coming inside three minutes – the fastest that the USMNT have ever posted against CONMEBOL opposition. That strike also took him to 30 through 69 senior international appearances, which is another notable record.
